The Author
Kay Perryman resides in Deland, FL with her family and adopted four legged friend, Barnacle. Kay received her Bachelor's in Public Relations at University of Florida, is a charter member of the Krewe of Amalee, a Junior Service League sustainer and volunteered for nearly 20 years at St. Barnabas Faith at Work, assisting local families.
Kay's creativity and passion for writing has come to fruition through her work of "Malcolm ...the ant". Kay collaborated with her daughter, Stevie, and local artist Erica Group to bring the character of Malcolm to life through illustration.
Kay has ambitions to create more literary work and is currently working on a young adult novel as well as a play script. Kay draws her inspiration from her childhood as well as worldly experiences.

Erica Group
Owner of Erica Group Designs LLC, and a Deland native, Erica Group is most notably known for her Deland Wings Mural painted in Persimmon Lane. Erica received her Bachelor's of Interior Design from Cazenovia College. Erica has a renowned portfolio of local art murals, illustrations & logos and was recognized by the Daytona News Journal as an up and coming young professional in the 40 under 40 business report. Group also hosted the award-winning video series, "What's Up West Volusia?" Erica has a big heart, even more talent, and a love for the city she calls home.

Character Design
Stevie Vermillion
Stevie Vermillion was born in Deland and attended Stetson University where she obtained her Bachelor's in Business Management. Vermillion is the former Co-Owner and Operator of the award-winning restaurant, BakeChop, situated in Downtown Deland. She recently left the restaurant business to start a family and loves adventuring with her son and husband.
Stevie is currently working on other character creation, sketch comedy scripts and photography.
